City of Oxford Public Notice - Now Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted by the City of Oxford Civil Service Board for the position of Oxford Performing Arts Center Patron Concierge Manager.

Salary range $50,440.00 - $62,992.65 yearly.
Job Summary: The Patron Concierge Manager (PCM) shall be responsible for a unique portfolio of members. The PCM shall facilitate membership programs, steward select membership accounts, and provide personalized ticketing services. The Patron Concierge Manager is to work closely with the Director of Development, the Director of Ticketing and Guest Services, and other staff to implement strong strategies and initiatives for expanding the OPAC membership base. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or 120 credit hours) is required. Passion for the arts and familiarity of the greater Oxford and Calhoun County community and its residents. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in all oral and written forms. Self-motivated, honest, thoughtful, and composed. Exceptionally detail-oriented. Collaborative and collegial in work relationships. Shall have extensive knowledge in the Tessitura software platform. Ability to develop an extensive knowledge of the OPAC software systems, including Tessitura. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to climb several flights of stairs during a short period of time.

Applications are now being accepted by the City of Oxford Civil Service Board for the position of Oxford Performing Arts Center Hospitality Manager.

Salary range $38,188.80 - $61,050.53 yearly.
Job Summary: The Hospitality Manager shall be responsible for the overall operation of artist hospitality services, concessions services, and food/beverage services.  Hospitality services include, but are not limited to: artist meals, transportation, lodging, local runners, and other contractual requirements.  This position works closely with the tour management of each performance to provide the required rider items in a cost-effective and professional manner.  Concessions services include management, procurement, and end-of-day settlement.  The Hospitality Manager will also manage donor/sponsor clubs and bar areas.

Qualifications: Passion for the arts and familiarity of the greater Oxford and Calhoun County community and its residents. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in all oral and written forms.  Strategic thinker and persuasive communicator who understands the value of strong supplier and artists relationships. Self-motivated, honest, thoughtful, and composed. Collaborative and collegial in work relationships.
Shall have extensive knowledge in the touring artist booking process. Capability of operating the Microsoft Office Suite of software. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to climb several flights of stairs during a short period of time.

Salary range $50,440 - $62,992.65 yearly.
Job Summary: The Director of Ticketing and Guest Services is responsible for the overall operation and progress of patron services at the Oxford Performing Arts Center. This position works closely with the presenter of each event to reach sales goals within reasonable allotted resources and time. The Director of Ticketing and Guest Services is a leader in the Oxford Performing Arts Center Box Office and is primarily responsible for the supervision of day-to-day and night-of-show box office procedures. The Director of Ticketing and Guest Services will work closely with the Executive Director to lead a team of part-time Box Office Associates. The manager is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and is able to manage his or her department effectively with a positive attitude. 

Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Graduated high school or GED. Must have taken college-level theatre, production, and/or business courses from an accredited institution. Bachelor's Degree (or 96 credit hours) is preferred

MEETINGS

The Oxford Civil Service Board holds regular meetings on the last Thursday of the month. The board may hold special, adjourned, or called meetings at any time. A majority of the members of the Board (3) shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

Various items are entered on the Agenda and discussed monthly. Minutes of these meetings are taken and recorded as well as business transacted by the Board. The Civil Service Board keeps records of Civil Service employees and, respectively, their promotions, commendations, transfers, demotions, written reprimands, suspensions, terminations, and evaluations.

All records of the Civil Service Board, except those which must be kept confidential for reasons of public policy, shall be open for inspection by any resident of the City of Oxford, Alabama, at all reasonable times, after a written request has been submitted to and approved by the mayor.

BOARD

The Civil Service Board was created in 1975 and consists of five members appointed by the State of Alabama Legislature who represent the city of Oxford. All appointees serve terms of six years and take the Constitutional Oath of Office, which is filed in the Office of the Probate Judge. The Chairperson and Secretary are elected at the last regular meeting of each year. The method of election consists of nomination and a second from the floor. Current appointees are as follows:
