Government

Phil Gardner serves as the Place 1 Council Member for the City of Oxford. He is employed by Webb Concrete & Building Materials. Gardner has served on the council since 2008. Since his time in office, he believes the greatest accomplishment serving the citizens of Oxford has been the completion of the downtown streetscape project, the construction of Choccolocco Park, and improved public safety. Gardner believes that the most important issues for Oxford are improved infrastructure and economic growth.  

Gardner is a 1976 class member from Oxford High School.  

Gardner has been involved in many civic and non-profit organizations over the years including Oxford Baseball for Youth, Oxford Quarterback Club, Oxford Parks and Recreation Board, Greater Birmingham Homebuilders Association, and Calhoun County Homebuilders Association. Gardner is married to Karen and is the proud father of Chad (Dana) and Kalyn. He is also the grandfather of Tanner (Madison), Ryker, and Rhett, and the great-grandfather of Truett and Layla. He attends Simple Church.
