Oxford Civic Center

Programs
Senior aerobics: Free, low-impact class with Lyn Brown (instructor) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m..
Tennis: Individual and group lessons for all ages and levels are offered at the 8-court tennis complex.

Day camp: Every summer and spring break, we offer camps for children ages 6-12.

Events
Senior Adult Day: In February and September, we provide free entertainment and a sack lunch and drink for all senior citizens. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. 
Senior Dance: We offer monthly senior dances. During the events, we serve food and have a live band. The admission fee is $5.00 per person.
Mardi Gras 5K: During Mardi Gras in March, we put together a 5K run for adults and children.
Freedom Festival: Every summer, we have a 4th of July celebration co-sponsored by the Oxford Arts Council. The festival includes parades, antique cars, food vendors, games, and activities for children. Some years, we bring musicians to entertain the large crowds. The spectacular fireworks show takes place at Oxford Lake.
Halloween Carnival: On October 31st, we offer a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. The carnival includes costume contests, hayrides around Oxford Lake, games, candy, and prizes. Carnival is from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Free admission and tickets are 4 for $1.00.
Masters Games of Alabama: The Game's participants came from all walks of life and physical abilities with one common goal - to have fun, exercise, make new friends, and compete in their favorite activities. The Masters Games of Alabama is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for active adults aged 50 and older through social, mental, and physical activities. While the Games provide an Olympic-type atmosphere, the focus is not on competition but on fun and fellowship.

Friendship Community Center

Programs
• Yoga: Mondays at 6:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Thursdays 5:45 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. ($10 per class)

Karate: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Testing on Saturdays. Instructor Mike Mangham offers karate classes for those interested. Participants must be at least 7 years old. The classes cost $45.00 per month.

Bluegrass Jam Session: In our kitchen area, we invite the public to a free and fun jam session on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Bring your favorite instrument! 

Senior Citizen Volleyball: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or later). All senior citizens are welcome to play volleyball in our gym. The activity is free, so come out and bring a friend! 

Pre-School: Classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 am to noon; For 3, 4, and 5-year-olds. Must be potty-trained. Immunization Blue Slip Required. Space is limited. Call for availability. 256-831-2679. $120 per month. $50 Registration and Supply Fee.

Canasta and Bunco: Bunco is on the first and third Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m., and Canasta is on the first Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

Basketball Instruction: Meet in the gym on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Basketball Free Play: Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pickleball play and lessons: Indoor court. Tuesday and Thursday, noon to 4:00 p.m.

Events
Easter Egg Hunt: Every year, on the Saturday before Easter, we host an Easter egg hunt for children ages 0-12. Make sure to bring your own basket!

Bynum Community Center

Programs
• Card Games: Mondays 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Free)
Yoga: Mondays and Thursdays – 6:30-7:30 p.m. $10 per person/class or 5 classes for $45
• Balance, Strength & Flexibility Aerobics: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. (Free)
• Square Dance: First and third Thursdays 3:00-5:00 p.m. (Free)

Freeplay
The athletic gym is available for basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, pickleball, and cornhole. Please call for times and setups. Note: the gym is used for PARD youth basketball from December through February and PARD youth volleyball from August through October for practices and games.

• Weight Cardio Room is open to the public; No fees, PARD rules do apply.

Our community partners:
The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group meets on the second Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Arc of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties: Every summer (June & July), the Arc conducts two three-week summer camps for special needs children at Bynum Community Center. The Arc is a 501(c)3 non-profit that serves individuals with intellectual /developmental disabilities and their families through support, education, advocacy, and public awareness, helping them reach their chosen goals.
Rainbow Omega has classes at the Bynum Community Center three days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through a grant they received. They have arts and crafts, games, and use the gym.
• The center hosts a multitude of tournaments for youth teams, school leagues, and adults. Many associations and businesses meet annually, quarterly, and monthly at the Bynum Community Center.
