The Wine Barrel pops the cork on a new Oxford store

Aficionados of fine wines and liquors have a new option when doing their shopping.
The Wine Barrel officially opened the doors to its new Oxford location at 2111 U.S. Highway 78 East during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday, Jan. 4.
Owner Bobby Patel revealed his store’s extensive collection of wines, liquors, beer, and craft beers, along with cigar and vape selections.
“This is a good city, and there are good people here,” Patel said, explaining why he chose Oxford to open his business. “We are going to do wine-tasting events every month, and we want everyone to follow us on our Facebook page, where they can see what we are doing.”
“Oxford is open for business,” said Mayor Alton Craft, welcoming the new store to Oxford. “We are always appreciative of those who choose Oxford as their home for business.”
