Oxford Police Department Aviation Unit Hosts Seminar

The Oxford Police Department Aviation Unit played host to 100 officers representing 37 law enforcement agencies from around the region on Monday, May 14 at the Oxford Civic Center.
The subject of the training was “Apprehending Fleeing Suspects,” and was led by retired LAPD officer Jack Schonely.
OPD Lt. Jake Durham, who heads the aviation unit, said members of the OPD took part in “The Hanger Z Podcast” on Sunday, a podcast operated by Vertical-Valor Magazine featuring conversations with those playing a role in aerial law enforcement, search and rescue, EMS, and firefighting.
