RENEWMED OFFERS MEDICAL SUPPLIES, EDUCATION AT NEW OXFORD LOCATION

The city of Oxford welcomed RenewMed to its growing list of new businesses.

Located at 614 Hale Street, Suite D, RenewMed provides medical supplies and equipment and health and wellness counseling.

Owner/Operator Britney Dixon said the location has therapeutic shoes available on site and is currently targeting diabetes patients with education and coaching.

“We want to help make these things more accessible and try to cut down on all the major diabetic issues and all the hospital readmissions,” Dixon said.

Dixon, who is a registered nurse at RMC, said she believes diabetes education is a need in the area and believes RenewMed “can be really helpful here.”

“We are excited to be a part of the community,” Dixon said, adding they hope to combine forces with the Health Care Authority of Oxford to increase diabetes awareness in the area.

State Sen. Keith Kelley was on hand to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony sponsored by Historic Main Street Oxford.

“We welcome you here,” Kelley said, “We love small businesses, which is how our economy lives and breathes.”

“It’s a real pleasure to welcome you here,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “The city staff is ready to help in any way we can. I believe what you are doing will be a big help to a lot of people.”

RenewMed is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., with those same hours available by appointment only on Fridays.
