The Oxford Police Department has been officially accredited by the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police.
Jacksonville Police Chief Marcus Wood, AACPA president, made the presentation to Oxford Police Chief/Director of Public Safety Bill Partridge and Deputy Chief Daniel Phipps during the city council meeting held July 8, 2025.
The certificate of accreditation says the department has “demonstrated its commitment to police excellence by living up to the progressive standards to ensure that police services are delivered within the community at the highest level of professionalism and integrity.”
Wood said Oxford is one of the first departments to receive the five-year accreditation.
“I want to recognize our Professional Services Unit that has worked tirelessly on this for the past three years, as well as everyone in the police department for their professionalism,” said Partridge.
