LEGAL NOTICE

TAKE NOTICE THAT THE FOLLOWING PROPOSED ORDINANCE WILL BE INTRODUCED FOR PASSAGE AT THE COUNCIL MEETING OF THE OXFORD CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON THE    9th    DAY OF  September   2025, AT  OXFORD CITY HALL, 145 HAMRIC DRIVE EAST, BEGINNING AT 6:30 P.M. AT THE ABOVE TIME AND PLACE.  ALL PERSONS IN OPPOSITION TO SAID PROPOSED ORDINANCE AND ALL PERSONS IN FAVOR OF SAID ORDINANCE WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD AS TO THEIR POSITION PRIOR TO THE INTRODUCTION OF SAID PROPOSED ORDINANCE FOR PASSAGE BEFORE THE COUNCIL.

                                         PROPOSED ORDINANCE NUMBER 2025-

An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Laws of the City of Oxford, Alabama, a Municipal Corporation.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Oxford, Alabama, as follows:

Section 1.  The following described real estate lying and being in the City of Oxford, Alabama, shall be rezoned from Planned Development District (PD) to Residential 2 District (R-2).

 

A parcel or tract of land located in the town of Oxford, Calhoun County, Alabama, and being Lot 16 in Block 33, as shown on the unrecorded plat showing subdivision of the J. M. Stewart property in Oxford, Alabama, prepared by C. Winston Cooper, civil engineer, on 9/28/12, more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the point where the north property line of Dodson Street (shown on said map as Second Street) intersects the east property line of Hale Street in said town of Oxford; thence north along the east side of Hale Street, 110 feet; thence east and parallel with Dodson Street (shown on said map as Second Street) 150 feet to an alley; thence south along the west side of the alley, 110 feet to the north line of Dodson Street (shown on said map as Second Street); thence west along the north line of Dodson Street (shown on said map as Second Street) 150 feet to the point of beginning.

Also part of that vacated alley as shown in Deed Book 922, Page 485, Probate Office, Calhoun County, Alabama.

Section 2.        This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage by the Council and by advertising as required by law.
