TAKE NOTICE THAT THE FOLLOWING PROPOSED ORDINANCE WILL BE INTRODUCED FOR PASSAGE AT THE COUNCIL MEETING OF THE OXFORD CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON THE 9th DAY OF September 2025, AT OXFORD CITY HALL, 145 HAMRIC DRIVE EAST, BEGINNING AT 6:30 P.M. AT THE ABOVE TIME AND PLACE. ALL PERSONS IN OPPOSITION TO SAID PROPOSED ORDINANCE AND ALL PERSONS IN FAVOR OF SAID ORDINANCE WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD AS TO THEIR POSITION PRIOR TO THE INTRODUCTION OF SAID PROPOSED ORDINANCE FOR PASSAGE BEFORE THE COUNCIL.
PROPOSED ORDINANCE NUMBER 2025-
An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Laws of the City of Oxford, Alabama, a Municipal Corporation.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Oxford, Alabama, as follows:
Section 1. The following described real estate lying and being in the City of Oxford, Alabama, shall be rezoned from Residential 1 District (R-1) to Agricultural District (AG).
A part of the NE ¼ of Section 34, Township 16 South, Range 6 East, Calhoun County, Alabama, being more particularly described as beginning at an existing 1 inch open top pipe at the Southwest corner of the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of said Section 34; thence north 01 degrees 03 minutes 58 seconds west along the west line of the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of said Section 34, a distance of 663.52 feet to an existing 3/8 inch iron pin; thence north 88 degrees 23 minutes 14 seconds east, a distance of 1,326.91 feet to an existing 1 ich pipe; thence north 05 degrees 03 minutes 12 seconds west along an existing fence, a distance of 208.43 feet; thence south 40 degrees 18 minutes 54 seconds east along an existing fence and ditch, a distance of 337.81 feet to an existing 1 inch open top pipe; thence south 54 degrees 17 minutes 58 seconds east along said existing fence and ditch, a distance of 216.88 feet to the westerly right of way of Peaceful Valley Road; thence south 42 degrees 19 minutes 50 seconds west along said right of way, a distance of 90 feet to an existing ½ inch capped iron pin #12502; thence north 52 degrees 24 minutes 30 seconds west and leaving said right of way, a distance of 207.12 feet to an existing ½ inch capped iron pin #12502; thence south 35 degrees 24 minutes 16 seconds west, a distance of 238.74 feet to an existing ½ inch capped iron pin #12502; thence south 52 degrees 47 minutes 14 seconds east, a distance of 191.15 to an to an existing ½ inch capped iron pin #12502 on said westerly right of way of Peaceful Valley Road; thence south 32 degrees 47 minutes 07 seconds west along said right of way, a distance of 359.29 feet to an existing ½ inch iron pin; thence north 60 degrees 48 minutes 02 seconds west and leaving said right of way, a distance of 190.09 feet to an existing 3/8 inch iron pin; thence south 38 degrees 57 minutes 39 seconds west, a distance of 112.99 feet to an existing ½ inch capped iron pin #12502 on the south line of NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of said Section 34; thence north 88 degrees 46 minutes 00 seconds west along the south line of said NW ¼ of the NE 1/4 , a distance of 1,047.35 feet back to the beginning point, containing 23.19 acres, more or less.
Being the same property as recorded in the Office of the Probate Judge of Calhoun County, Alabama, in Deed Book 3200 at page 344. Situated, lying and being in Calhoun County, Alabama.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective upon passage by the Council and by advertising as required by law.
