Oxford to host 9/11 Memorial Service

Oxford to host 9/11 Memorial Service

OXFORD, AL — September 2, 2025 — The city of Oxford will host a 9/11 Memorial Service on Thursday, September 11, beginning at 10 a.m. The service will be conducted at Liberty Park on the grounds of the Oxford Civic Center, located at 401 McCullers Lane.
The service is open to the public.
The Oxford Fire Department has taken the lead each year, inviting first responders from across the area to participate in this special remembrance of those who were lost during one of the most significant and tragic days in American history.
“That day will forever hold deep meaning for our nation, especially for all who serve as first responders,” said Oxford Fire Chief Gary Sparks. “We invite everyone to join us as we pause to reflect, to remember, and to honor those of our ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice in public service and stand united in support of all who continue the daily work of supporting and protecting the citizens of our communities.”
