Seniors enjoy fall fun and games at the Oxford Civic Center

More than 400 seniors from across the region enjoyed a time of fall season fun and fellowship on Monday, September 8, 2025, during the Oxford Parks and Recreation’s Fall Senior Adult Day at the Civic Center.
Jon Holder of Grace Radio 90.7 FM emceed the morning’s festivities, which coincidentally came on the day after National Grandparents’ Day.
“We have an awesome day planned with some awesome vendors who have made this day possible and have some goodies and other things ready for you to have,” Holden said. “We have a lot of great music, a great meal for lunch, and a lot of door prizes available to win.”
Dr. C.O. Grinstead, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, gave the invocation saying, “You have allowed us to live these many years. What a blessing to be together just to fellowship with folks – many who we don’t even know.”
Ryan Robertson and Alabama Rain struck up the music with “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” causing the dance floor to quickly fill with both couples and line dancers.
The next Senior Adult Day gathering at the Oxford Civic Center is now scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026, with what has become an annual Valentine’s Day celebration.
