Raymond James Wealth and Retirement Services opened its new Oxford location at 704 Hale Street on Friday, December 5, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Branch manager Joseph P. Bynum III is a 1972 Jacksonville State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He is an Investment Adviser Representative and a Registered Principal with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Bynum holds his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, in addition to his life and annuity license.
Bynum is joined by Jonathan T. Jones, a Jacksonville State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance. While at JSU, Jones interned with Wealth and Retirement Services, Inc. He worked as a financial planner for three years before moving back to Calhoun County to join the Oxford location. Jones is a Certified Financial Planner and has earned his Chartered Financial Consultant Designation. He also has his Series 7, Series 63, Series 9, and Series 10 licenses. Jones is also licensed in the state of Alabama to offer life insurance and annuity products and specializes in Estate, Retirement, and Investment Planning.
Anna L. Embry serves as Client Relationship and Marketing consultant after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance. Embry is currently pursuing her MBA at Jacksonville State and intends to pursue her Series 7 to become a Financial Planner.
Jennifer B. Pool, a 1995 Oxford High School honors graduate, serves as the senior branch administrator and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.
“I have known the Bynum family for years,” said Mayor Alton Craft. “When I saw the sign go up here, I was tickled to death. Thank you for being part of this community and all your whole family has done for our city throughout the years.”
Bynum mentioned that the house where the office is located was once home to the Gibbs family. Their three daughters, who had been friends with his wife, attended the ceremony to see the place they used to live.
