Santa welcomes 1,500 guests for breakfast at annual OCS event

More than 1,500 accepted the 16th annual invitation of the Oxford City Schools Education Foundation to have “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The Oxford High School Chorus serenaded those awaiting the doors to open at each of the three available sessions, then received a second mini-concert from a choir of elementary students, all decked out in holiday attire.

The path to the Oxford High School cafeteria was lined with a gauntlet of familiar characters, there to greet, guide, and hug everyone making their way to a breakfast of IHOP pancakes and sausage, with hot coffee provided courtesy of the elves from Historic Downtown Oxford’s iconic Southern Girl Coffee.

The kids were able to color in their free Christmas books with the crayons provided while their families awaited the arrival of elves, courtesy of OHS students, to deliver their breakfast plates.

Santa didn’t have time to eat as he made himself available to hear Christmas wishes and pose for pictures with all the kids and the young-at-heart.

Judy Muncher, executive director of the Oxford City Schools Education Foundation, said the 2025 event sold the most tickets ever for the annual fundraiser. The OCSEF is a non-profit organization that raises funds to enhance education experiences for students and teachers in the city school district.

The Oxford High School Choir will give its formal Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Oxford. The concert begins at 6 p.m., and admission is free.
