The annual Oxford Christmas Parade, organized by the Oxfordfest Committee, filled all of downtown with a moving palette of holiday sounds and colors on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Lasting more than an hour, the parade was led by the Oxford Police Honor Guard and the music of the Oxford High School “Sound of Champions” Marching Band, and briskly followed by everything from Shriners to Sesame Street, including more than 80 entries.
No trucks, cars, bicycles, trailers, or even instruments were exempt from being illuminated with color, while mobile snow machines added to the evening's seasonal atmosphere. And while there was no real precipitation falling from the sky, showers of candy fell onto the streets and were quickly scooped up by excited young people and adults.
Grinches, choirs, football players, and princesses offered friendly waves and smiles as they drove by, offering their holiday greetings and Christmas wishes.
As is tradition, Santa Claus brought the celebration to a close following the route up Choccolocco Street, down Main Street, and taking a last turn onto Snow Street.
Six of the parade participants went home rewarded for helping make the yuletide bright.
The float award winners were: 1st place – Blueprint Church; 2nd place – Trinity Baptist Church; and 3rd place – Michael Walker (Grinch mobile).
The decorated car winners were: 1st place – David and Lakeetha Skinner; 2nd place – Brandon Hammond; and 3rd place – Shriners of East Alabama.
The city of Oxford offers its appreciation and congratulations to the Oxfordfest Committee and their army of volunteers who once again gave of themselves to add to our city’s Christmas spirit.
