The Thin Blue Line ran through Music City Bagels on Friday, January 16, 2026, as the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce hosted “Coffee with a Cop,” giving local residents a chance to meet and greet members of the Oxford Police Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Along with members of those two agencies, District Attorney Lynn Hammond and newly appointed Anniston Police Chief Clint Parris also attended.
“This really helps the community, especially to see their elected officials. I think it is important to be able to talk to them one-on-one in a friendly environment,” said Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge.
Calhoun County Sheriff Falon Hurst offered his thanks to all those attending.
“Feel free to talk to any of our guys whenever you see them,” Hurst said. “They are supposed to be friendly whether we are doing ‘Coffee with a Cop’ or not.”
Oxford City Council President Chris Spurlin expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the law enforcement officers.
“In this day and age, they don’t get much credit,” Spurlin said. “We have a great group of guys. We’re really proud of them.”
Those attending were also offered the chance to get up-close views of law enforcement vehicles and to have a friendly encounter with Oxford Police’s new K-9 officer, Havoc.
Music City Bagels owner Aldo Stassi said it was an honor to play host to the event.
“This community has been great to us,” Stassi said. “We are here anytime you need us.”
