Opportunity to learn more about downtown’s buildings and history

OXFORD, AL — March 17, 2026  — Historic Main Street Oxford offers the chance to step back in time and explore the stories that helped shape downtown Oxford with its annual Walking Tours in Main.

The free tours are scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, and Saturday, April 18, 2026. Both start at Simmons Park and run from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

These free guided tours, conducted by HMSO director Hunter Gentry, will take participants through downtown as they explore the district’s history, architecture, and lesser-known stories that make our community unique. From historic buildings to fascinating local history, everyone will discover something new around every corner.

Whether a longtime resident or visiting for the first time, this is a great way to experience downtown in a whole new way.

Simmons Park is located at 400 Main Street.
