AOD Federal Credit Union celebrated the ribbon-cutting for its new mobile financial center during festivities led by the Calhoun County Area Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, August 15, 2026.

The new vehicle is designed to go out into communities to provide financial services and education.

“We are so excited to share this with our community,” said AOD CEO Christy McCullough.

McCullough credited AOD’s newest financial tool to AOD chief of staff Virginia Bowen, who has been working on the project for several years.

“This has been a dream of ours for some time,” Bowen said. “The purpose of it is to be able to go out to members in our underserved areas and take the credit union to them. We plan to be out and about serving people’s financial needs. This unit contains two teller windows, a desk area, and an ATM in the back.”

Bowen said AOD plans to bring the unit to community events, “but mainly to meet the needs of our members.”

Hunter Gentry, Oxford director of economic development and Main Street, offered congratulations on behalf of Mayor Alton Craft.

“AOD has been a long-time pillar of our community, and we appreciate seeing you continue to grow,” Gentry said. “The city stands ready to help in any way we can.”

State Sen. Keith Kelley and County Commissioner Danny Shears added their words of support and appreciation for AOD’s growth and contributions to the community.

AOD Federal Credit Union has an Oxford branch located at 12 Elm Street, which is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
