Information and online request forms are coming soon for organizations seeking financial or in-kind support from the City of Oxford. This page will include application guidelines and links to submit:
- Appropriation Requests: Requests for financial support for programs, projects, or services that provide a clear public benefit to Oxford residents.
- In-Kind Support Requests: Requests for event support, use of City facilities and spaces, and City staffing or services.
Preparing an Appropriation Request
Organizations seeking an appropriation must have 501(c)(3) status in good standing and provide three years of financial statements, a current organizational budget, and their most recent IRS Form 990.
Applicants should also be prepared to provide:
- The amount requested, the specific purpose, and the proposed use of funds.
- The number of Oxford residents expected to benefit, the cost per resident served, and a description of the public benefit.
- Measurable goals and expected outcomes.
- Other funding sources, including the organization’s own financial commitment.
- Whether the request is one-time or recurring.
- Whether the proposed program duplicates services already provided by the City or another organization.
How Requests Will Be Reviewed
Eligible appropriation requests will be reviewed by the City’s Appropriations Review Committee. Review will consider the benefit to Oxford residents, financial responsibility, the organization’s ability to deliver the proposed services, and alignment with City priorities.
The committee will make a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council retains final authority to approve, deny, or modify appropriation requests. Submission does not guarantee funding.
Organizations receiving funding must sign an appropriation agreement establishing the approved use of funds, an expenditure deadline, reporting requirements, and access to supporting records. Unused or improperly spent funds must be returned, and future funding is not guaranteed.
